Two booklets by Pam Hullinger, DVM, California Department of Food and Agriculture, and Carolyn Stull, PhD, Veterinary Medicine Extension, UC Davis, offer a summary of the current, best practices for providing a humane death for horses, sheep and goats in the absence of a veterinarian.
